ako Village is the highest village in the valley and the existence of lake formed out of the masses of ice and snow above adds to beauty of the village. Local village deity is Deodum and another Lagang Temple with several idols exists here. The Nako Village’s lake is a part of the boundary of Nako Village and seems that the village is half buried in the lake's border entire village is covered with deep snow including the frozen lake and its frozen surface is used for ice skating. There are some nice day walks around the mountains if you're reasonably fit. Behind the lake you can head up the mountain towards the visible chortens which is a nice viewpoint. If you still have a lot more energy continue around to the other side of the range for views east towards Tibet. In 3 to 4 hours you can reach the village of Tashigang perched high above the Sutlej Valley, with an interesting Temple. The only things you'll encounter underway are sheepherders and great views. Festivals and Fairs are the other charm of the village. The tourists can also take part in the Festivals. The traditional Lamas dance known as chham or mask dance are very popular in the region. The Lamas through their dance show the defeat of the evil forces. Gates in the village streets are built from stone and wood and painted inside with colorful Buddhist religious paintings. Nako is famous for its apple orchard and the fresh apples are worth buying.
